Kegel exercises: strengthening the pelvic floor

Regular pelvic floor training can meaningfully improve stress incontinence.
Kegel exercises strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and improve urinary control. They are often recommended as part of conservative treatment for stress incontinence.
Doing them correctly
- Identify the right muscle — the one that stops the urine stream - Hold the contraction for a few seconds, then relax fully - Repeat in several short sessions each day - Do not hold your breath while exercising
Results usually appear after several weeks of regular practice. If there is no improvement, specialist assessment is needed.
